In 2013 Peter Baxter and Doctor Haresh Mirani met on the MS Expedition West Africa Cruise where Doctor Mirani was a passenger and Peter Baxter a guest lecturer. Peter Baxter is an author, historian, African traveler and sometime guide, who shared Doctor Mirani’s reverence for Kilimanjaro, and the spiritual bedrock that each had achieved through climbing Kilimanjaro.
From there was born a friendship that evolved from a preliminary agreement for Peter to assist in the preparation of Dr. Mirani’s memoir to an agreement to found the Mirani Trust as a shared expression.
Peter Baxter is the author of nine published books on themes of African history, politics and warfare. His also a speaker, and African heritage guide and traveler.
