Widening the Horizons

Cane cutters are traditional migrant labourers who seasonally  migrate 100s of miles to cut the cane on the farms and live there for months. Some families leave their children with grandparents and other relatives in their native villages. . The children face the emotional vacuum with parents not around . The lack of educational facilities in these backward areas also adds to their education suffering. Cane cutters school is a social effort to cater to the needs of these children and  give them the education and community support they need.
Mirani Foundation donated to the key initiative of creating the digital center for the school.  Our Basic IT literacy , Online learning and Internet have become instant hits with students. The center is now buzzing with kids’ enthusiasm , the teachers are using it to enhance the quality of education. Mirani foundation has a vision of “WIdening the Horizons”  of young kids, imbibing skills at an early age and connecting them to knowledge resources.  The connectivity to online platforms guided by teacher mentors is doing wonders.
