Our program of Classical Dances of India was a huge success. The audience was entertained with a wonderful performance of traditional dances accompanied by a live orchestra of very talented musicians. Attendance exceeded our expectations with an estimated crowd of 300 people! The Clayton Performing Arts Center at Pellissippi State’s Hardin Valley campus offered the ideal viewing space. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. We were fortunate to be able to sponsor this program and cover the costs so that ticket sales and donations could go almost entirely to the two charities we were supporting.
We were able to raise almost $3000 for our beneficiaries: SEEED Knox and Asha for Education. The two organizations are doing incredible work to help break the cycle of poverty in their communities by providing education and other programs that help young people.
Our thanks to Ranjani Murthy the talented dancer, Bhavani Murthy, who organized the performance, the talented musicians and to everyone that came out to support this event and the two charities that benefitted.
